New Developments

The largest proportion of our properties are 1930’s mansion blocks, which were built to last – and they have stood the test of time.  Unfortunately, this is not true of new developments where cost-cutting is rife and often results in problems appearing within a few short years. Commonly it is the installation of cheapest lifts or other foreign-made and closed protocol equipment for which spares and service cannot be easily sourced. Then of course there is cladding and other cheap fascia materials.  New developments are commonly marketed with grossly understated service charge costs, which come home to roost in major excess charges to buyers 2 or 3 years after their purchase. Developers also tend to appoint ‘friendly’ managing agents to help them fend off snagging and other claims from buyers. Such agents are usually poorly staffed and unresponsive to residents’ calls and needs.

The result is that, when the residents get the power to take over control, they appoint a ‘real’ managing agent like us. We have some great testimonials to the improvements we have achieved in short order.
